Biala Buddies (Group 2) - Program of Support
Ages 7-12. Facilitated by Occupational Therapists
Biala Social Groups provide a supported space for neurodivergent children to connect with each other while exploring and developing their own communication, social and regulation needs.
The Biala Buddies group is based on the child’s developmental needs and preference of engaging in social interactions. Typical activities in this group include movement (i.e., tiggy/tag), construction based activities, (i.e., Lego).
Group Goal:
· Support children to recognise and communicate their emotional needs and preferred coping strategies during social interactions
· Support children’s ability to engage in co-operative play and collaborative problem solving with peers
Expected Outcomes:
· Children will be able to identify emotional states and select appropriate coping strategies during group activities with therapist support.
· Children will actively participate in co-operative play and demonstrate collaborative problem solving skills, such as compromising and sharing responsibilities during games.
Cost: $129.33 per session + $193.99 for report preparation. Total cost : $1,487.26
2024 Session Dates and Time: Thursday, 4.30pm to 5.30pm
Commencing 18 July - 5 December 2024
* The cost is inclusive of sessions, planning, set up/pack up, writing of case notes and a report for your child at the end of each program.
* Short notice cancellations do not apply, participants will be charged for all scheduled sessions, regardless of the number of sessions attended.
* Two weeks' notice to exit the program is required.

Families who are joining a group for the first time are required to attend a 1:1 initial assessment session with a therapist/Early Childhood Teacher (ECT). This can be face-to-face, via telehealth or by phone.
